“Signs, signs everywhere signs
Fucking up the scenery, breakin’ my mind
Do this, don’t do that,
can’t you read the signs?”

Where I live, there is an abundance of churches and small locally owned businesses that like to use those movable letters to create signs they seem to find witty or amusing. Churches tend to be the worst offenders (“Sign Maker Out Sick, Come in Sunday For Message” – um, okay). One of the fun little websites I found allows you to make your own church sign. My little gem is below:

I tend to get a little annoyed at signs, especially when they try too hard to be uplifting or profound. Our local convenience store is notorious for trying to be sharp-witted, and it usually ends with me rolling my eyes. Last week, however, I saw two signs that had been… redone, I’m guessing – because the nearby trailer park was somehow having a community “Nard Pale” and the local pizza parlor’s sign said: “Slob On My Nob”. Nice.

Am I the only one who notices this shit? And if so, why on earth am I reading all this stuff? Shouldn’t I be, I don’t know, looking at the road?
